Measure and improve your vertical
jump with the SkyMeter…
Simply hang the SkyMeter from the
front of a basketball rim and the SkyMeter gives coaches and athletes a
way to measure their vertical jump to the nearest inch. With a vertical
range from 6 to 10 feet, the SkyMeter helps to set goals for physical improvement.
For Basketball and Volleyball,
the SkyMeter replaces wall-mounted units and cumbersome, expensive free-standing
devices…
The SkyMeter belongs in the gym bag
of every coach and athlete. Lightweight, portable, and convenient,
the SkyMeter is made from impact-resistant plastic and tough, flexible
vinyl. It hangs easily with a broomstick and since it’s not wall-mounted,
the SkyMeter is great for both free standing and running approaches… there’s
no fear of colliding with or banging your knuckles against a wall. |
 |
The SkyMeter is great for use
in the gym or at home. Isn’t it time to find out…
The SkyMeter is designed to be installed
with a broomstick, something that you’ll find in almost every gym or home.
Simply hang the SkyMeter off of the
end of the broomstick as shown above. Then, while holding the tape
taught against the length of the broomstick, raise the SkyMeter and hook
it it over the front of the rim.
Calculating your Vertical Jump
Height…
First measure and record your Standing
Reach by stand flat-footed with one arm reaching upwards. |
 |
Next, jump up next to the tape and
reach as high as possible. Make three attempts using either a running
or standing approach and record the Jump Height for each attempt.
Take your best recorded Jump Height, subtract from that your Standing Reach
and you’ll have your Vertical Jump Height.
Sample Calculation...
Best Jump Height:
108 inches
Standing Reach:
- 88 inches
Vertical Jump Height:
20 inches

Usage and Care…
Follow these common sense guidlines
when using your SkyMeter.
Be aware of your abilities and surroundings
when practicing your jump. Properly stretch, warm-up, and make sure
you have plenty of room to jump and land. When hanging or removing
the SkyMeter, be sure that it doesn’t fall and land on anyone’s head.
Do not hang or try to swing on the SkyMeter. Keep your SkyMeter clean
with mild soap and water, air dry, and avoid storing it in extreme heat. |
