Mixed Martial Arts: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - Arm Bar Technique

Looking for alternatives from the mount position? Try the arm bar submission technique in four easy steps.


1. Hand Placement

Bring one hand inside the two arms, and bring the other hand around the outside, trapping the opponent’s arm.

2. Use Your Weight

Gain control by placing all of your weight on your opponent.

3. Trap Your Opponent

Turning your body while maintaining your hand position keeps your opponent from getting away.

4. Leg Work

Pass your leg around your opponent’s head and lay back; pinch your knees together and lift your hips up while hugging your opponent’s arm.
